The best advice I’ve ever received came from my 10th grade English teacher, Mrs. Blanton. Two years later, I received the same advice from my 12th grade creative writing teacher, Bernie Neil.

Both of these wonderful women told me to never give up on my dream of becoming a writer. They were the only two people in my life growing up who believed in me.

I’ve never forgotten this advice.
